Technical assistant in Molecular Immune Regulation (80-100%)

The research group Molecular Immune Regulation at the Department of Biomedicine of the University Hospital and University of Basel is looking for a motivated technical assistant. Our group focuses on T cell research with a particular emphasis on genetic mouse models. The position is open starting September 1, 2017. A later start may be possible.

Your tasks:

-       Hands-on support for various in vivo experiments with mice

-       Maintaining and managing parts of our animal colony

-       General assistance of various tasks in the lab

Your profile:

-       Practical experience managing mouse colonies with complex genetically altered mice including: handling mice, health assessment, and genotyping (PCR and FACS based). Experience with various manipulations is required (i.v., s.c., i.p. injections, blood collection, gavaging, organ collection). Experience with surgical techniques is a plus.

-       Experience with multicolor flow cytometry is required

-       Basic lab techniques (cell culture, basic molecular biology incl. PCR and gel electrophoresis)

-       Degree in Life Sciences/ Biotechnology

-       At least 3 years lab experience

-       LTK1 or equivalent (e.g. FELASA B)

-       Flexible personality
