Congratulations to Prof. Dr. Anne-Katrin Pröbstel for receiving the Sobek Young Investigator Award 2022
Due to the pandemic, the Roman, Marga and Mareille Sobek Foundation honored its prize winners from 2020 to 2022 in a joint ceremony at the Stuttgart Music Academy.
Prof. Dr. Anne-Katrin Pröbstel was awarded with the Young Investigator Award 2022 for her scientific work in the field of B cell-mediated autoimmune diseases of the central nervous system. The Basel neurologist focuses on understanding the role of autoantibodies in interaction with a myelin protein and their clinical significance and mechanisms of action in demyelinating diseases such as multiple sclerosis. In addition to developing a cell-based diagnostically relevant test method, the young professor is investigating the mechanisms of B cell activity in the intestine as an important immune regulatory variable and its effects on the pathology of the central nervous system in MS.
