Covid-19 research at DBM
Researchers at the DBM are working to better understand the SARS-CoV-2 virus and COVID-19 disease. The research groups of Christoph Hess and Christoph Berger have received funding from the Botnar Research Centre for Child Health (BRCCH) to investigate the role of the immune response in COVID-19 patients. The group of Gregor Hutter is participating in a BRCCH-funded project of the Department of Pathology / Alexandar Tzankov, to investigate the interactions of SARS-CoV-2 with tissues and organs derived from deceased patients.
