International Day of Women and Girls in Science

Established by the United Nations General Assembly in 2015, the International Day of Women and Girls in Science aims to promote full and equal access to and participation in science for women and girls. The day acknowledges the significant contributions of women to scientific progress and innovation, while highlighting the persistent gender disparities that exist in STEM fields worldwide.

As we celebrate the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, let us reaffirm our commitment to achieving gender equality in science. By breaking down barriers, challenging stereotypes, and fostering inclusive environments, we can empower women and girls to fully participate and lead in shaping the future of science for the benefit of all.

This year we held an exciting career panel discussion to celebrate the International Day of Women and Girls in Science.

Susan Gasser, Katharina Timper, Karoliina Pelttari and Zora Baumann, all at different stages of their scientific careers, shared their experiences and insights

The panel discussion was followed by a lively Q&A session where all attendees were invited to ask questions and share their experiences.  This special event ended with an Apero in a great atmosphere and many more scientific discussions.

The key message was: We will continue to support and strengthen each other!
