We are delighted to invite you to an upcoming seminar by Dr. Montserrat Cols, Senior Scientific Editor at the Journal of Experimental Medicine (JEM). Scientific Publishing at JEM: What, Where and Why In this talk, Dr. Cols will provide valuable insights into the editorial perspective at JEM—highlighting how scientific content is evaluated, what makes a study stand out, and which directions the journal is currently prioritizing. This will be of interest to anyone considering publication in a high-impact biomedical journal. After the presentation, there will be a question-and-answer session where attendees can ask questions and interact directly with Dr. Cols.

About the speaker:
Montserrat (Montse) Cols received her PhD from Keele University (UK), focusing on apoptosis in immune cells. She continued her training in New York City with Dr. Andrea Cerutti (Mount Sinai School of Medicine) and Dr. Jayanta Chaudhuri (Sloan Kettering Institute), working extensively in the field of B cell biology, from developmental disorders to leukemia. Montse joined JEM as a Scientific Editor in 2020 and was promoted to Senior Scientific Editor in 2022. Although she is an immunologist by training, she handles a broad portfolio of manuscripts, including those on microbial pathogenesis, stem cell biology, and neuroscience.
