Three prestigious national MD-PhD scholarships awarded to DBM students
The Swiss Academy of Medical Sciences (SAMS), the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) and the Swiss Cancer Research Foundation award each year a limited number of competitive three-year MD-PhD scholarships. Repeating the success of previous years, the DBM has proven to be an ideal host institution for medical doctors interested in a career as clinician scientist. We are proud that in 2019 three out of eleven grantees will be hosted by DBM laboratories:
Mali Cristina Coray will work on Atypical chemokine receptors in multiple sclerosis – chemokine availability and clinical potential in the Mehling lab,
Maurizio Cortada will be Investigating mTOR function in the mammalian inner ear in the Bodmer lab, and
Philip Schmassmann's project hosted by the Hutter lab is entiteled Synergistic activation of microglia by targeting CD47 and Siglecs.
