Three DBM MD-PhD students receive a competitive national MD-PhD scholarship.
The Swiss Academy of Medical Sciences (SAMS), the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) and the Swiss Cancer Research Foundation award each year a limited number of competitive three-year MD-PhD scholarships. Repeating the success of previous years, the DBM proved to be an ideal host institution for medical doctors interested in a career as clinician scientist. Thus, we are proud that three out of ten 2018 grantees will be hosted by DBM laboratories:
Philippe Georg Dehio will work on Serine metabolism and T cell migration in the Hess lab,
Tanay Kaymak will investigate The role of IL-20 cytokine family members in eosinophilic esophagitis in the Niess lab, and
Marie-Anne Meier's project in the Heim lab aims at understanding the Molecular signature of extracellular vesicles in liver cancer: effects of epithelial-mesenchymal transition and response to Sorafenib.
