SNF Professorial Fellowship address young researchers who intend to pursue an academic career and wish to establish their own team to realise a research project at the DBM and the University of Basel.

These SNSF fellowships are aimed at young researchers who wish to conduct, manage and lead an independent research project at the DBM and develop their own research program. They are mentored by a DBM research group leader.

Professor Dr Max Cloëtta Foundation

The Prof. Dr. Max Cloëtta Foundation finances medical research positions at Swiss universities, clinics and institutes. The Cloëtta positions for medical research are intended for fully trained and independently working researchers, especially if they are suitable for positions to be created later or that become vacant. By creating long-term research positions, the Prof. Dr. Max Cloëtta Foundation aims to promote the careers of young researchers in Switzerland.

ERC Consolidator Grants


ERC Consolidator Grants are designed to support excellent Principal Investigators at the career stage at which they may still be consolidating their own independent research team or programme. Principal Investigators must demonstrate the ground-breaking nature, ambition and feasibility of their scientific proposal.
